Another great shrimp recipe to try..the Barbecue Shrimp
Shrimp is among the fastest and simplest proteins to prepare on the grill, making it my top option when I can't watch the grill all night. Certainly, you can keep the shrimp unseasoned, but they taste much better with a rich layer of sweet and smoky BBQ Sauce!
You just require a few ingredients and approximately 10 minutes. So what is holding you back? Light up the grill because something delicious is coming your way!
- 5lb shrimp, shelled.
- 2lb butter.
- 4 tablespoons chopped parsley.
- 4 teaspoons cayenne pepper.
- 4 teaspoons black pepper, to taste.
- 2 tablespoons chopped rosemary leaves.
- 2 teaspoons fresh-squeezed lemon juice.
- Half cup of Worcester sauce.
- 6oz beer.
- 5-10 cloves garlic, finely minced.
- 1 medium onion, finely minced.
- 3 ribs celery, finely minced.
1. First of all melt a stick of the butter in a skillet.
2. And then saute the garlic, onions, celery, parsley, rosemary and seasoning blend for about three minutes.
3. Next is to melt the rest of the butter.
4. Add the beer.
5. Add the sauteed stuff, Worcester sauce and lemon juice.
6. Drown the shrimp in the seasoned butter, using as many baking dishes as you need.
7. Make sure the shrimp are more or less submerged. If they aren't, melt more butter and add tothe sauce.
8. Bake in a 350F oven until the shrimp turn pink (15 to 20 mins).
9. Serve in big bowls and put in a handful of shrimp and ladle
lots of the spicy butter sauce over it.
Storing and Heating Again
Allow the BBQ shrimp to cool, then store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
Chilling BBQ Shrimp
Rapidly and thoroughly chill the shrimp by laying them out in a single layer (no shrimp overlapping) on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Use a paper towel to dry the cooked shrimp, then put them in the freezer.
Permit the shrimp to be frozen for a minimum of 30 minutes or as long as one hour. Place them into a freezer storage bag and remove as much extra air as you can.
If preferred, bag the shrimp twice. This typically assists in avoiding freezer burn. Make sure to tag and date the storage bag as well!
Warming Up BBQ Shrimp
You can easily reheat BBQ shrimp in the microwave, but for the best results, I suggest using the stovetop. Warm some oil on medium heat and add the shrimp.
Heat for 1-2 minutes on each side or until heated completely.
Hmmm...great taste of barbecue shrimp...enjoy !
